Outside Classroom Assignments
McCallum Fine Arts Application Details |
The following are outside classroom assignments for students that want to work on their art skills or build up their portfolio outside of class.
Cross-hatch and Stippling: Stippling is a technique one can implement to convey value by making dots with a pencil or pen. The closer the dots, the darker the values and the farther apart they are, the lighter the values.
Open up the 'cross-stipp' power point below to go over stippling.
Assignment: Take a picture of your pet, shoes, or a still life and draw it out on a sheet of paper (at least 11inx8in). Once it is drawn out, you will then use a pen (usually a felt tip works well for this) and start adding in the values by making dots on your paper.
